About the Ensemble

The Intercontinental Ensemble is a classical nonet—four strings and five winds—whose players hail from Mexico, Spain, Hong Kong, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Australia, and the Netherlands. United by a passion for storytelling through music, this chamber music group exploits the richness and flexibility of their unusual line-up to enlarge the repertoire with original symphonic arrangements and newly commissioned works.

Their albums Traveling Light, In Motu, and Arc have all been greeted with enthusiastic reviews at home and abroad.
